The aim of the Conference is to assemble active researchers in nonlinear hydrodynamics and students, and to serve as a forum where most recent developments can be discussed. It follows the tradition of biannual confer-ences organized by the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University between 1976 and 2004 (see http://hit2003.narod.ru/), which were widely attended by scientists and students from the former Soviet Union.
At this conference the following
directions are to be considered:
Mathematical
aspects of hydrodynamic instability;
Transition
processes;
Chaos
and turbulence;
Computational
fluid dynamics;
Applications
to microgravity sciences, geophysics, astrophysics, ecology etc.
In addition, in the framework of the Conference the Materials & Microgravity Sciences Workshop (MMSW) will be held for 2-3 days. A special workshop for students is also planned.
Abstracts of talks and posters will be published by Moscow University Press in "Proceedings of the Interna-tional Conference in Hydrodynamic Instability and Turbulence". Prospective participants must send abstracts in Word to the Organizing Committee (gertsens@imec.msu.ru) not later than 15 January 2006.
The official languages of the
Conference are Russian and English.
The Conference will be held in a
holiday hotel in the picturesque Moscow suburb. The average temperature of
February in Moscow is about -8 grad C.
Registration and accommodation fees is approximately 750 Euro, 450 Euro for students. Transfer from/to airport and meals (15 Euros a day) included. It is planned to organize visits to Moscow University, Moscow museums and theaters.
